We can repeat it to ourselves and let the positive words replace the negative thoughts in our head.

We start with ourselves.
May I be filled with loving-kindness.
May I be peaceful and at ease.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.

Then we include a loved one.
May you be filled with loving-kindness.
May you be peaceful and at ease.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.

We then extend our wish to all sentient beings.
May all beings be filled with loving-kindness.
May all beings be peaceful and at ease.
May all beings be happy.
May all beings be healthy.
