Negative self-talk is toxic and often we are not even aware that we are doing it.
Consider that running commentary going on in your head, what are you saying to yourself? And if right now you are thinking, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t talk to myself!” THAT is self-talk.
If you notice your thoughts when you are feeling bad about yourself, they might be along the lines of “I’m not …, I can’t…, I don’t…,” with a focus on what is NOT working. One way to switch it up is to think in terms of I am … changing the focus to what IS working. We get more of what we focus on, think and speak of what you want more of.
